K12Portal Gradebook FAQs
1) What are the main features of the k12portal Gradebook?
- The k12portal Gradebook includes the ability to manage your classroom by easily creating assignments and entering scores for students.
- Final grades are automatically calculated based on the gradescales and grading calculation that have been setup.
- K12portal handles category and/or assignment weighting, multiple reporting periods, and can calculate final grade based on weighting of reporting periods.
2) How much work is required to set up the k12portal Gradebook?
- The k12portal setup has been designed to minimize the time and effort required to setup the teacher gradebook.
- The Setup wizard can be used to create a section with a minimal amount of steps.
3) What type of grading does the k12portal support?
- K12portal supports traditional grading through the creation of assignments that may be points, letter grade, or percentage based.
- Standards-based grading will be supported in the future and we welcome feedback on it.
4) Can I take my Gradebook home to enter student scores?
- K12portal is a web based application and as such requires only a connection to the internet and a web browser.
5) Do parents/students have the ability to view student progress using
k12portal?
- Parent and students will be able to create their own k12portal accounts and have a view into their own student progress.
- They will also be able to take advantage of the powerful Calendar and Address Book functionality for powerful collaboration with teachers and other parents.
6) Can I take attendance using the k12portal Gradebook?
- Version 1 of k12portal does not support attendance taking.
- However, look to future releases for this functionality to be added.
